The Plans Review Process is the permitting procedure for building and site construction projects within Athens-Clarke County. Commercial projects, multi-family developments, industrial projects, major subdivisions, and institutional projects are reviewed through Plans Review.

Building Plans
Weekly deadlines at 12:00 noon each Friday to the Planning Department (via email at planningsubmittals@accgov.com). Applicants are scheduled for a Plans Review Conference on the Thursday 13 days after the initial submittal deadline.
Site Plans
Bi-weekly deadlines at 12:00 noon every other Friday to the Planning Department (via email to planningsubmittals@accgov.com). Applicants are scheduled for a Plans Review Conference on the Thursday 20 days after the initial submittal deadline.
Estimated Plan Submittal and Review fees will be taken at the time of submittal and a single payment made to the Building Inspection Department. This includes the base Plans Review Submittal Fee, Public Utilities review fees, Transportation and Public Works review fees, Fire Marshal review fees, and Building Inspection review fees.
